Michelle White, LMHC, LCAC
Michelle White is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor with over 20 years of experience providing therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology at Indiana University Bloomington, and she received her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology at Loyola University Chicago.
Michelle specializes in Crisis Counseling, providing evaluation of symptoms and treatment recommendations to help individuals manage stressors. She provides emotional support, ensures safety of all, and assists with developing effective coping strategies. Michelle works with individuals experiencing both mood and thought disorders, including anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship distress, adjustment challenges, and psychosis. She uses a Trauma-Informed Care approach while offering various therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and various mindfulness techniques. Michelle focuses on using compassion, empathy, and support to offer person-centered individualized care.
Michelle worked at Larue Carter State Psychiatric Hospital providing dual diagnosis treatment to individuals with severe mental health symptoms and addiction. She served as the Clinical Supervisor at Eskenazi Hospital on their Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, providing direct patient care as well as providing support and supervision to other members of the Social Services Team.
In addition to working part-time at ProTeam Wellness, Michelle is currently a therapist at the NeuroDiagnostic Institute providing a variety of therapeutic interventions to individuals with severe mental health symptoms, and she continues to work at Eskenazi Hospital as a crisis clinician providing psychiatric evaluations in the Emergency Department. Michelle comes from a family of law enforcement officers and fire fighters, and she is excited to help others in the community as part of ProTeam Wellness.
